Steve Levine edits Cat Professor, where he publishes plain-language cat care guides on feeding, health, behavior and life with an indoor cat. Every guide leads with the answer and cites veterinary sources; none of it substitutes for examining your own cat.

Building Cat Professor

I started Cat Professor because most cat content answers a question you did not ask. You search how much to feed a cat and get a listicle; you search why a cat stops using the litter box and get an advert for a litter box. The guides here open with the answer, say plainly when the honest answer is see a vet, and name the source behind any health claim. I am not a veterinarian and this site does not pretend otherwise — it is written for the owner deciding whether something is normal, and what to do next if it is not.
